The "surge" caused a surge in Iraqi and American deaths (and debt) alright, if that's what is meant by "working." The Iraqis simply have finished segregating themselves, which they would have done anyway.

Better than "If I had it to do over again, I would still vote to invade Iraq."

Clearly Mr. Allie is poorly educated about what's actually been happening in Iraq. If he would bother to do his homework, he would have learned that the reports the Bush administration has been touting as proof of the effectiveness of the "surge" (read: escalation) is based on inaccurate, cherrypicked data that excludes the kinds of attacks and deaths that used to be included in the numbers. Way to feed the propaganda mill, Eric. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Obama could not have voted against going into Iraq, because he was still an Illinois state senator at that time. If he could have voted with the big boys, he would have been voting against Colin Powell's recommendation, and voting against supermajorities of the House and Senate (including Hillary Clinton), all of whom supported going into Iraq to defend ourselves. I guess Obama really IS smarter than everyone else. If he only had a back-bone, I could vote for him.

Ah! Hindsight is always a perfect 20/20, and everyone is a genius when it comes to post-diction (describing events that have already happened). Such is the power of the almighty Obamasiah! On another note, it is very interesting to see people spreading the propaganda of Ms. Pelosi and her Dem cronies. Get over it people - the surge worked, whether you like it or not. Iraq is becoming a safer country every day...
