I must say that I love your art. Secondly, I despise how Obama, who has accomplished a little more than nothing is being hailed higher than more accomplished blacks such as, oh I don't know...Colin Powell, Thurgood Marshall, Nelson Mandela, Jackie Robinson, Clarence Thomas, Rosa Parks, Frederick Douglas, Booker T. Washington, Martin Luther King Jr., just to name a few. Obama hasn't done anything!

Umm, I think you are overlooking one very big accomplishment. He is the first black presidential nominee of a major political party. When you are talking about accomplishments important in the struggle for racial equality and civil rights, this is a HUGE deal. The cartoonist gets it wrong in that Obama's accomplishment does not overshadow King or Lincoln or the many African Americans who have fought for the cause and/or achieved success. Obama's accomplishment was made possible by people such as MLK and Thurgood Marshall who paved the way by working to tear down the legal and social barriers which long made the idea of a black president no more than a fleeting dream. I wonder if King ever thought it was possible for a person of color to be president? Could Booker T Washington or Frederick Douglas, fresh out of the bonds of slavery and struggling just to be regarded by this county as human beings deserving of the most basic rights have thought that a black man would be on the brink of being the Commander in Chief? So, to say that Obama has accomplished little more than nothing is a bold misrepresentation and understatement. He has accomplished a great deal eventhough the election hasn't occured yet.
