The USA had an excellent embryonic “Energy Plan” following the ”Oil Embargo” of the 70‘s.  The plan was spearheaded by then President Jimmy Carter, who BTW also made a pretty good start at a “Middle East Peace Plan.”   France and Brazil at the time started their own plans for energy independence.  While France and Brazil grew their plans and have achieved relative energy independence, our President Reagan scrapped President Carter’s plans in favor of Reagonomics which included selling great amounts of weapons to the Middle-Eastern states in exchange for cheap oil.  President Reagan said his approach to spend vast sums on WMD’s for our and our “friend’s” use would bury the Communist Nations.  Maybe so, but now the former Communist nations seem to be in an upward spiral while we seem to be spiraling downward.  Anyone studying first year economics knows the choice between guns and butter has consequences.  Continually choosing guns over butter ultimately leads to the downfall of a nation.  Trouble is, Reagan and his staff apparently never took first year economics, and we all have a good feel for the economic intelligence quotient of our current President.  In my mind, Al Gore makes many valid points and I am a firm believer had he become President, you, me, the USA, and the world would be safer, stronger, and cleaner.

Steve D nust be Gores dad. If he bothered to look at the latest scientifis data from NASA, Yes the space agency, he would see that for the last ten years, the global temp has DECLINED, or LOWERED. But dont let facts get in the way of a good lie.

How about Nancy Pelosi and her so called energy play or should I say agenda. In the first 20 days of the current socialist regime, the instituted the largest tax increase in history. Or how about that energy plan in Jan 2006, what has that brought around, oh thats right, the price of crude oil and gas has doubled, of course as well as consumer prices. But lets not talk about that
