Why should we blame the airlines for making up such charges. How else are they going to offset the cost of fuel, if anything the politicians are to blame for this mess. Start drilling in Alaska and other places to bring down the cost of gasoline down.

Sure, it's all fuel costs. Let's open up another box of Alaska. It's the miserable way these guys took care of business after deregulation. Fifteen permanently leased airport gates for 12 daily flights. Customer service that went from the best available to just slightly short of slapping customers around. And when it comes to moving passengers efficiently, the only group of consultants these guys have listened to were in TSA, which is to say, the Post Office without the warm cheery smile.

sad but true..... from now on for me.. train, bus or car... even with the price of gas it is about the same amount to drive where i want to go as it is to fly after you add up all the fees........ pretty soon they will be charging for the recirculated air you breath!
