My vote is very dependent on either parties VP selection. If McCain chooses Romney I'll stick with the Democrats. If Obama doesn't pick Hillary for VP or some else of very middle of the road thinking, I'll vote McCain. What a dilemma. I feel like Abbott and Costello. Who's on first, What's on second, etc. will become an Independent in 09.

Thanks for the perspective view.

So you think that being a lt. comdr in the Navy and getting shot down DOES qualify a person for President? What about all the other men shot down during the war. If you like 4 more years of Bush policies, Bush lies and economic devastation for our country, you will love McCain.

Thank you for pointing out the double talk! At least we know who McCain is! Obama has a questionable background and has not been around long enough for us to truly know him. He needs to try again later. I don't mind his background if he wants to be a senator but definitely not the Commander in Chief. It's a shame we don't have the best of America to choose from in this election.

Well, Clark is correct. It doesn't "automatically" (let's get the quote right, folks) qualify you to be president. Just as spending several years running Texas into the ground as its governor didn't qualify Bush. And now he's run America into the ground.McCain has even admitted to NOT being up on foreign affairs, computers, and the internet. WTF? It's 2008 for God's sake!Just look at his blunder regarding Iran and the training of Iraqi insurgents during his recent trip to Israel (where Leiberman had to step in and correct him), his "gas tax holiday" gimmick, and offering $300,000,000 to someone to develop a better car battery (like a hundred battery manufacturers AREN'T trying to do that already to capture that lucrative market?). WTF?He's been the Congressional representative for Arizona for over 20 years, a state that's basically desert and a meteor crater, and its only vital role is to protect its border with Mexico, and he wasn't even able to do that! And I like McCain! But, not for president. The only thing that qualifies you for being president is BEING president (well, except for Bush, who is still as incompetent as the day he stole the office). The most vital qualifications for being a good president are:- Intelligence- Knowledge- Real world working/managing/delegating experience- The ability to listen- The ability to rationally evaluate situations & make decisions- Genuine care & concern for the average American (the majority of us)- Surrounding yourself with people who share these qualifications- NOT being the puppet of corporate AmericaTo be sure, we do not have the best to choose from, although I was a big fan of John Edwards, a true man who educated himself, worked hard and earned his way, lost a child, and now has a wife with breast cancer. I mean, THAT'S an American, folks! We just cannot afford 4 more years of Bush/Republican rape.

IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE WHAT THE GENERAL SAID, LISTEN TO WHAT SILLINESS THE " GREAT WAR VICTIM", WHO, BY THE WAY, WAS NEVER GOING TO MENTION HIS WAR RECORD,YET, HE DOES ALL THE TIME. ALL THE GENERAL WASPOINTING OUT WAS THAT MC CAIN HAS NO MORE COMMAND DECISION EXPERIENCE THAN DOES OBAMA. AND, AS I WAS SAYING, LISTEN TO THE REMARKABLE UNDERSTANDING MR. OBAMA HAS OF ALL THE SITUATIONS A PRESIDENT WILL BE FACING, AND, WHAT TOTAL BUNGLING IDIOT CRAP THAT COMES OUT OF OLD JOHNNY MC. HE'S A DODDERING OLD FOOL, NOW!!!

I voted for McCain in the primary in 2000. I bought in to the "maverick" image. A friend of mine met him at Pensacola before becoming an A-4 pilot in Vietnam. McCain is no maverick. Goldwater was the maverick. John is the lobbyist’s wet dream. He's stooped low enough now, to team up with the Swift boat liar that shredded him and Kerry. Wes Clark was completely correct about what he said, that gave the right wingers a spike in their blood pressure. Anyone that's been around Naval aviators would know that it has nothing to do with having the qualifications for president. John needs to go sit in a rockin' chair and rest. It's time to take it easy with a cool Budweiser.DaveUSMC 1959-1967

McCain is so qualified to know women should not have control over their bodies - down with contraception etc. He is so informed about economics. It amazed me when he said he didn't know much about economics. Then I read his brilliant economic plan. He wasn't any good as a pilot and he almost came last in his class. He knows so much about the war in Iraq that he doesn't know what the difference is between Iraq the Sunnis and the Shia. He was a fan of Hagee's and then he decided he wasn't. Why did I ever think badly of Bush. Why would anyone think of voting for him. Some voters must want to see America flame out and end up as a third world country as quickly as possible.

Beats hell out of Obama's qualifications. What were they again, warming a seat in the senate for a few years?

Well, this cartoon is about as relevant as George W. Bush's "service" in the TX Air National Guard if there actually had been any such service.Perhaps it's more to the point to recall that BEFORE John McCain managed to get shot down over Vietnam he had barely graduated from Annapolis. Following that, I have seen very little evidence of any real grasp of any subject in his long career in the U.S. Senate where he has served as just another useful tool to the corporations and moneyed interests that actually run the US government. Mr. Obama, on the other hand had a very impressive college and law school career. He then went to work trying to help persons less gifted and less fortunate than he in Chicago as a community organizer. Mr. Obama then sought to serve in the US Senate again to aid those less gifted and less fortunate than he rather than to be just another gear in the machine that is the US Senate as it currently exists.Given these two choices, it is easy to choose between someone whose only real talent seems to be in marrying well and high above his own station in life as is McCain's CV as opposed to a man who actually overcame many obstacles in life to achieve something extraordinary for others as a US Senator. Seems like an incredibly easy choice to me.

Carroll Jenkins is obviously a typical liberal who throws out the mud (namecalling without facts) and expects it to stick. When her last two choices couldnt beat Bush. Gore is spreading his lies about global warming, her are the facts Carroll, when nasa, yes carroll the space agency's latest facts for 98-07 show the planet is cooling, yes cooling, but lets not let the facts get into the way of mud slinging

How come nobody is asking Sen Obama - If you love your country, how come you did not apply for a military reserve JAG direct commission after 9/11 because of your lawyer background?? Real Americans such as Pat Tillman were running to the recruiting center and enlisting. Other real Americans were calling their Reserve units and making sure that they were on the top of the list when their units were mobilized to be deployed!!!
