Ms Estrich is correct to question motives and responses, but one suspects that she is pandering to an Obama derived notion of apologetics. It is always a shock to discover that we are blessed with insubstantial and corrupt politicians and that democracy works; they are Republicans and they are Democrats, and they are elected or appointed. There are fantastic examples of political and moral corruption amongst those that represent "the people." For example, Ms Pelosi in her recent "advertisement for myself" that appears in the current issue of Harper's Bazaar sports a $1,395 Armani jacket, Bill Blass Skirt, Bulgari earrings and Cartier diamond necklace. One assumes this is the required costume to care for the poor, downtrodden and needy amongst us. Later she tells us she gives her face "30 hot splacshes" and worries if she has lost count and only done "25." We live in a complex world, but Ms Pelosi apparently told people she cannot allow drilling to ease the oil crisis because "she must save the world." Fortunately Ms Pelosi, obviously a person of intelligence, will save us from ourselves. Ms Estrich seems to ignore the Pelosi hubris as she does that quality in Mr. Obama. Ms Pelosi is matched by the unusual inability of Mr. Obama to decide if he visited "57 of our 58 states," (how I do wish he would have named them) or his warning that we need, "to be concerned about all the kinds of carbon," or his fascination with a picture on our paper currency. An Alaskan politician, Mr. Stevens, seems to have a record of corruption that especially includes his magnificent bridge to no where and now other more felonious expressions of conduct. These are matched by that erstwhile Democrat who kept his "hot cash" cooled in cans in his freezer. Both the Congressman and Mr. Stevens and his Alaskan bridge have simply discovered new way to cool off cash. Perhaps it has always been so in politics and greed prevails over wisdom or concern. Mr. Lincoln, another Illinois politician but with more substance than the current candidate for his office, notes in his writings the constant din of special favor requests and the abundance of those that would livew off the public purse. It would seem that limiting these wizards of deception to a narrow and constrained tenure would alleviate some of their "urgings" to fill their pockets (or freezers). Mr. Obama would do well to emulate the humility of that other Illinois politician of long ago, but that fellow had a sense of himself (and others).

I do not know what the first picture of Obama and Britney means?  Did I miss something somewhere?  I certainly do not think that Barack is "hot" and certainly Britney in the McCain side is uninformed but nevertheless thinks she must speak anyway.  Is she "speaking" in the Barack side?  I'm really confused and I think I keep up on these things.  Alas.

In case you don't get it, McCain had a commercial where he said Obama was a mere celebrity, and he showed a picture of Britney Spears.  Pretty low blow, eh?  So now this cartoon is saying that McCain is the one who is more like Spears, because they both agree with Bush policies.  Oh snap!

Obama should probably have Brittany as his VP.  She will get a good portion of the dumb voters to vote for him, otherwise, he is going to lose.
