"His running mate's family problems should send a laser-like message to McCain" Family problems? Drug abuse, spousal abuse, Child abuse, Alcoholism, sexual molestation . . . those are "family problems". When your 17 year-old gets pregnant, she has a problem (or maybe an early gift - depending on the circumstances). I don't think Obama's grandmother thought they had "family problems" when her un-wed 18 year old daughter had a bouncing baby Barack. Do you?How was Palin chosen? Hmm, let's see. How about for starters, she has more Executive Experience than BOTH Obama and Biden, combined! President John McCain & Vice President Sarah Palin . . . get used to it.

servant's heart = christian humility, so what? We should not TOLERATE christians? I find it hard to tolerate "intolerables", like yourself.

Obama's grandmother might well have "thought they had 'family problems' when her un-wed 18 year old daughter had a bouncing baby Barack." How would you know? did you ever ask her? did you know her personally? Can you relate to the generational contexts with which Obama's grandmother would have judged the sexual mores of her daughter's generation? This kind of "projection" is essentially what you accuse Froma Harrop of doing, isn't it? Have you no shame? Or is it just a problem of reading comprehension?

In response to a stupid post by Art W."...she has more Executive Experience than BOTH Obama and Biden, combined!"Two years of being governor of one of the least populated states does not equate to executive experience. Who are you kidding? Oh, I remember. Wasn't the current president also a previous governor? Your argument doesn't hold.

Maybe you just need new glasses..
George - "Two years of being governor of one of the least populated states does not equate to executive experience. Who are you kidding? Oh, I remember. Neither Biden nor Obama have ANY Executive Experience . . . that is the simple fact.Yes, the current President was also a Governor. You get an A+.Past President's, that were also Governors include: Bill Clinton and Ronanld Reagan. They were all 2-Term President's as well. What's your point George?

Art: "I don't think" would suggest either you believe or you know (i.e. you don't need to think). You say you "don't think Obama's grandmother thought they had 'family problems.'" What did they have, then, if an unwed mother is not a "family problem"? A reason to celebrate? A bundle of pride and joy?Your use of the word "President's" in your response to George does not require use of the genitive. And it is obvious that George was pointing out that having "Executive Experience" (why the capitals?) does not automatically lead to Presidential success: Reagan and Bush being obvious examples.

(sigh). Gonna be a loooong campaign this time. I'm glad the polarization problems of previous years have been ameliorated. The place is starting to look like Congress in the 1850's. An unexpected pregnancy, for a 17-year-old, is a serious "family problem". It's the right's inability to recognize that fact that so well characterizes their approach to humanity. And as the saying goes, where was Mommy when all this begatting was going on?
