Isn't it funny that we just elected the most liberal senator in congress promising more than liberal/socialist policies, while aready backtracking on the "tax relief" policy credited with getting him elected we still have a country who feels following:President Bush Job Approval approval disapproval difference RCP Average 11/06 - 11/10 27.3 69.0 -41.7http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_bush_job_approval-904.htmlCongressional Job Approval approval disapproval difference RCP Average 10/23 - 11/10 18.3 73.3 -55.0http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/congressional_job_approval-903.htmlSo the Hated Bush the Demon from hell still has half again the approval as that of congress.

Jack, I think that history will be kinder to George Bush than it will be to Bill Clinton. When both men are gone, their lives will be researched and written about by people without an axe to grind.Neither one was a military man. Clinton created a surplus by almost decimating the military and Bush started out by micro-managing the war. Both were wrong and should have consulted the professionals. Now we'll get to see if a man that has never held a job for more than three years can handle his four year obligation to serve ALL AMERICANS.

John"Neither one was a military man." One served, one fled the draft to England and held demonstrations, both did drugs, both held elected offices, but I do agree that ultimate history, not rewritten by the liberal revisionists will be kinder. The political pendulum swings both ways, I hated the John Birch era as much as I hate the present liberal vacus souled era. We will not have a better nation electing the empty suit we have, but to the extent he is now the new norm we will accept it, and fight against the liberal hell he proposes. Oddly the most reviled man in the last century, Joe McCarthy was absolutely right about the Roosevelt and Truman governments having communists in office steering policy for the Russians/Stalin, as the Venona Intercepts point out. But I guess I’d rather see the Hollywood d-elite in the Lincoln, rather than the raft of anarchists, bombers, PLO terrorists and assorted Chi-town crooks that are to “crumb-up” the place. I personally look forward to ‘bama to be a worse president for the country than Clinton ever was. I morn for the country being run by the “I hate America crowd”. As far as Clinton's Surplus, I'm afraid that the Rep Congress had far more to do with that than the attempts at Hillary Care. Of course the Republicans had to roll back Clintons promise breaking Tax Increase on the middle class (just as will 'bama), but then the Rep's actually acted as Republicans, big "R".

Jack -I was always ashamed of W's military service. To be kind, I'll say that he missed a lot of formations. In another post, I said that we had 16 years of the Commander-in-Chief either never having worn the uniform or being a disgrace to it.Daddy Bush, on the other hand, was a decorated combat pilot. Big difference.I'm not looking forward to sharing the wealth, either. I own my house, but I can't take in any boarders, other than the grandchild that we are raising.

Anyone ever consider that perhaps Obama ran a better race, and may have been the better story?Truthfully, I was insulted at the idea that as a non-hockey-supporting, Leroy Six-Pack American with a miltary veteran father, I really didn't fit with the Republican idea of what makes a real American. The Republicans need to rethink who does and does not count in this country. Either that or they need to throw away the "us" v. "them" playbook.
